Dating to the Victorian era of approx. 1845, this original Seaman’s Chest is a stunning find. Of English origin, and constructed of mahogany timbers, it stands at 1 meter in height. Housing 5 graduated drawers, it makes for a very handsome storage option. With original solid brass flush drawer handles & brass capped corners. Constructed to split into two halves (as with the majority of seaman’s & campaign furniture for the ease of transportation), it has a simple, clean design. Restored by Quintessential, solid construction, excellent condition. Today it would happily sit in many rooms of the home, from an entrance hall, to an office, from a bedroom to a living room. An original vintage travel poster for Qantas’s route to Britain. Circa 1960 and designed by Harry Rodgers (1929 – 2012), this original colour lithograph is all kinds of wonderful. Advertising Qantas, Australia’s Round the world airline, flights to Britain, it features a fun and colourful design by the artist Harry Rogers depicting the symbolic British bulldog. Printed by Posters Pty Ltd. A highly evocative piece and one of series of very collectable posters designed by Rogers for Qantas in the early 1960’s. In superb condition, we have left this poster unframed, so the buyer can choose a frame of choice to work back with their personal interior style.
