Antique French Provincial Blanket Box

Just released in-store & on-line, this 19th Century, circa mid to late 1800s, French provincial blanket box is a truly stunning find.  Constructed from solid antique French oak, it has beautiful warm hues and a lovely patina to the timbers.  With a lift-up lid to access one of two internal spaces, access is also available via a 2 door cupboard front, suggesting this coffer design was obviously bespoke crafted for the owner.  Traditionally made with pegged joints and clean simple lines to the design, an internal timber support ensures the lid stays open hands free when you are accessing the contents.  Both beautiful and practical, this spacious piece of French provincial furniture is just an absolute joy.
