Battery Acid Jar

When we talk about finds that are as rare as hen’s teeth we literally do mean it here at Quintessential duckeggBLUE. This original Australian battery acid jar is one of these items! Reclaimed from the Snowy Mountains River scheme (or Snowy scheme): a hydroelectricity and irrigation complex in south-east Australia, the Scheme consists of sixteen major dams; nine power stations; two pumping stations; and 225 kilometers (140 mi) of tunnels, pipelines and aqueducts that were constructed between 1949 and 1974. This rectangular form glass battery acid jar was originally used to house a conductive solution of either acid or copper sulfate. In a green tinted glass and raised on 4 feet, this large example has weight to it!  Today, battery acid jars are extremely hard to source, making them all the more covetable. Repurpose as a vase or decorative item within your interior.  Perfect for a florists shop!
