Crawfords Biscuits Antique Display Cabinet
Dating to the 1880s – 1900s this Crawford’s Biscuit floor standing store display cabinet is a truly rare find that we once in a lifetime have the pleasure of sourcing. Constructed from mahogany timbers and with the original white marble top and reverse painted gold leaf advertising on its original glass, it’s in excellent condition. The three front hand-blown glass cabinets have the original brass hardware and hinges allowing them to lift and stay open without assistance, and its stands on its original brass castor feet. Manufactured by Taylor Bros., Sheffield, England, this display cabinet is a rare find (We have only managed to previously source one of these in the 12 years that we have been trading). At the time of manufacture, Crawford’s was the fourth largest biscuit manufacturer in Britain, and the longest established. This display was designed specifically for advertising & retailing the much-loved biscuits of the time. The brand continues today as the sister brand to McVities.
It is perfect for displaying all manner of items – we currently are displaying books in it, but it can be used for everything from spices, pastas, and other food stables in the kitchen, to documents and files in a home office.
