Portrait of a Danish Gentleman

Newly released in-store, this rather impressive oil on canvas portrait of a gentleman encapsulates everything we love about vintage portrait paintings.  Measuring just under a metre in height, this Danish portrait was painted in 1957.  Featuring a Danish graduate of law, the dark hues of the background contrast impressively with the technical painting of the sitters facial features, gesturing a nod to the work of Lucien Freud.  With the text to the back of the canvas: Overtoldinspektor – Cand.Jur. – N.J.O Andersen 1957
