Vintage Wine Cellar Thermometer
From the British maker, W.Reeves & Co. Ltd, London, famed as manufacturers of brewers & distillers instruments, this original wine cellar thermometer is a rare find. Dating to the early Edwardian period circa 1910, the mercury thermometer is set in a white ceramic case. The measurements are printed in black & red, 60 & 70 degrees, with 60 degrees hand painted in red as opposed to black, suggesting that 60 degrees was of importance to the user as most wines need to be stored at around 55 degree Fahrenheit. In full working order and excellent condition.
