Vintage Campaign Chest

Dating to the Victorian era of approx 1850-1870, this English Campaign Chest is a superb find.  We are a little obsessed with Campaign Furniture and the enduring appeal and ingeniousness of its origins.  Any furniture that can be dismantled and folded down could be described as Campaign Furniture but it is usually associated with highly fashioned, yet practical pieces used by the British Army in the 19th and early 20th century.

Of English origin, and constructed of mahogany timbers, it stands at 92cm height.  With 5 deep drawers (3 are full length, 2 are half length), it makes for a perfect storage option.  With original solid brass draw handles, brass cornering and side handles used for the movement of this chest from location to location.  As with the majority of campaign furniture it is constructed to split into two halves, again for ease of transportation.

Restored by Quintessential, today it would happily sit in many rooms of the home, from an entrance hall, to an office, from a bedroom to a living room.  A timeless classic that should not be missed.
