Belgian Oil on Canvas Landscape

An exquisite oil on canvas landscape painting by the Belgian artist, Georges Conradry.  Born in St.Gilles, Belgium, 2nd February 1908 and died in Forest, Belgium March 1978.  Having studied at the Royal Academy of arts in Brussels and and Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, he became a professor and director of the Academy of Fine Arts school in St.Gilles.  His works have been exhibited in Belgian museums and abroad and has had solo exhibitions and participated in many artistic events.

With bold brushstrokes, this painting boasts a beautiful use of colour, tone & texture, and you could say references work of the impressionism period. The canvas is framed in a simple, yet considered and sympathetic, off-white frame that lends itself beautifully to the landscape without distracting.  A charming work.
