Dating to the late Victorian period, an original English weigh scale plate.  Constructed from white ironstone ceramic, this plate would originally have been used on a set of Pooley cast iron weigh scales by a 19thC grocer or butcher.  Beautifully decorated in under glaze black transfer with the Henry Pooley & Son logo.  In great condition, re-purpose today as a cheese board or serving platter.  Both practical & decorative, they look beautiful adorning a table or stood on display in the kitchen.
